Seems to be produced for tablets (giant fonts, no keyb controls). But most of all, the game is not physically correct! (e.g. "photon accelerators" isnt something that exists, and to curve photon paths, not gravity is used but magnetic fields). So if your kid plays this, (s)he might get some wrong ideas about the physics of light.. After adjusting mirrors and lenses the whole day to hit the desired spots with a laser, I go home, start my PC and adjust mirrors and lenses the whole evening to hit the desired spots with a laser. In Optika, you solve geometric optic puzzles by adjusting optical elements such as mirrors, lenses, frequency conversion crystals and a few others. While there are many games out there, especially mobile games, that do exactly the same, Optika seems to be the only one (correct me if I'm wrong) approaching it with single photons forming a beam of light, which gets closer to the particle-wave characteristic of light than just a solid beam. Then again, it lets you change the speed of light, so the real physics stop as fast as they started. Pros: - Lasers- epic colors (you can take some really nice screenshots)- frequency conversion (it's even cooler in reality)- LasersCons:- the magnetic fields make you go crazy and their amount of influence on the photons is unrealistic- changing the speed of light gives away the realism(changing the speed of the photons is only required because of the magnetic fields, removing the first would solve the latter)TL:DRAs an engineer developing lasers, I rate this 8\/10 (not 10 yet because of unrealistic mechanics). Extremely easy levels are mixed with some super hard ones; game sometimes requires precision hardly achievable due to problems with moving the elements ever so slighthly. Would recommend to someone that doesn't care about beating all the levels and wants to relax for a while. Soundtrack's good though. 6\/10. You can play around with filters, mirrors, prisms...Nicely done.. Hey people!Optika is physical puzzle. In the game you need to study and take over hundreds of challenging puzzles in levels 160 games. For those who are poorly taught physics, a great way to gain knowledge through this game .At the beginning of each level of the puzzle you are given light source and receiver in the form of a circle with a triangle in a circle, to which you have to using various optical devices and cause the light thus necessary to bring the light so that it is sufficient for full charging of the receiver .As the available tools you are given a lot of different optical devices - mirrors , prisms , lenses , and even a magnet.Levels feature a pretty minimalistic , but it's a good thing , because the bright background would distract from solving puzzles and optical focus rather disturbed , and by type of instrument , and so we can understand how they work .The complexity increases as puzzles your passage - is greater receivers , and each receiver must conduct light of a particular color. also it becomes a little more difficult to work with the device - you must adjust not only their location and angles of incidence of light , but periodically , and the rate of passage of photons .The game has a training in Russian , as well as the trading card and Steam Achievements .This game are time killer if you have time and you like physic , go play and you will like that.My estimation to game : 6/10I reccomend game to all. The premise is great, but the execution in the development of this game is disappointing. The primary problem is that not all the stages of this game are beatable. I'd recommend looking at the Steam discussions for this game and seeing how many levels have changed with the release of patches, and immovable objects are now placed in the wrong positions to allow the completion of several levels. It places players in the infuriating position of putting time into puzzles which cannot be solved. This is the Kobayashi Maru in it's truest form, as it cannot be 100% beat without hacking the game files.Additionally, the game will sometimes stop responding when trying to reach the menu, and the achievements for it are also broken. In place of getting one for beating 50 levels, you get the achievement for beating *all* levels, and then you get additional one for beating 100 levels. Yet the one for 150 is still not awarded after beating 150 levels. If the game hadn't been developed with so many bugs, it would have been alright, but I cannot recommend it.. I hate pixel hunting style games.. Pretty little puzzle gameHas issues but is very much beatable. Does not explain that you can move some object only in a limited space, but i guess the subtle appearance of the movement border is enough for that.I think the game is well designed as the primatry solution is rarely vague, and you can use tricks to beat a level even faster, but generally entertaining enough to be enjoyable. Can't really recomend it to anyone who is looking for a challenge though. Not worth the price, but its a solid hour of a game.
